I'm the type of person that gets super excited over New Years and making resolutions. It's always nice to have a fresh start after a long year.

I've decided that this year, I'm going to make a list of goals instead of resolutions. Now, even though they are basically the same thing, I feel like the word "goals" is a bit more realistic when it comes to trying to stick to something. When I made resolutions in the past, I felt like I was forcing myself to do them, so I finally just gave up. It was all or nothing. However, making a list of goals seems more forgiving. If I mess up along the way, it's OK- because I can keep trying until I reach that goal.

So, with that said, Here is a list of my top 5 goals I want to meet in 2020.

1. Start being consistent with FITNESS.

The key word here is consistent. Consistency with exercising is always something I've struggled with. I really want to spend more time doing yoga specifically and getting flexible. It is hard for me to exercise, but once I do it, I feel great. This is something I need to remind myself of as I go into 2020 with this new goal. To get motivated, I made a monthly fitness calendar that I can see on my bulletin board each day to keep me going. If this is something you're struggling with, I suggest you try this too:)

2. Start drinking more WATER.

I know this one sounds small, but it does BIG things. Once again, consistency is key here. That's why it's one of my goals-something I can reach over time. Everytime I regularly drink water, I notice a different in my energy, my skin, and my health. Water is something everyone's body craves and it is important to drink lots of it to get a healthier body and clearer skin. It also is a great energizer and can really help with productivity.

3. Get a CAR.

This is more of a personal one for me, but something I've been working towards for years. I got my license this year (one of the goals I set for 2019) and I've been saving towards a car for a very long time. My goal is to buy a car in March or April of 2020.

4. Play instruments more.

I've grown up in a musical family and enjoy playing the ukulele, piano, and guitar. One of my little goals is to save up and get a new ukulele. I'm an amateur at playing it (same with guitar) and want to continue to learn and play more. As with piano, I will continue going to my own lessons and learning as much as I can in order to become a better piano teacher for my students.

5. Have a total of (at least) 50 college credits by the end of the year.

I'm a junior in highschool who duel enrolls to get college credit. I just became a sophomore in college (a total of 30 credits), but I want to try to get 20 or more credits in this next year to get me closer to my junior year. This way, I will have all of my core classes out of the way in order to enjoy classes that are specifically for my major (once I graduate high school).

And, of course, an obvious goal: I want to continue writing for this blog throughout 2020 ;)

I hope these five goals help you get to know me a little bit more, but also help you get inspired to think of some goals for the new year.

Happy Holidays!
